Abstract: We will present our recent results on the development of AI-driven models for simulating (anti)neutrino–nucleus collisions. We focus on (anti)neutrino energies characteristic of accelerator-based neutrino experiments, such as T2K. In this energy range, the theoretical description of (anti)neutrino–nucleus interactions is complex, with nuclear effects playing a crucial role. We propose AI-driven models capable of learning from both theoretical predictions and experimental data. In particular, we will discuss generative models, such as GANs, NF, and VAEs, and assess their ability to generalize and extrapolate data-encoded information into kinematic regions that are not yet accessible experimentally.

Abstract: In this talk, I will review recent work from our group on developing deep learning models for lepton–nucleus interactions. I will begin by applying generative adversarial networks (GANs) to simulate neutrino and antineutrino collisions with nucleons. Our models encompass both charged-current quasielastic and inclusive interactions of muon neutrinos with a carbon target, offering detailed predictions for the final charged lepton. I will then discuss how transfer learning can extend knowledge from one scattering process to another. For example, I will show that a deep neural network for cross-sections, pre-trained on electron–carbon scattering data, can accurately reproduce electron scattering in helium-3, lithium, oxygen, calcium, aluminum, and iron after only minimal fine-tuning with limited new measurements. Finally, I will present results on applying domain adaptation to GAN models that generate neutrino and antineutrino interactions with nuclei. This talk is based on the following references: Phys. Rev. Lett. 135, 052502; Phys. Rev. D 112 (2025) 1, 013007; and arXiv:2508.12987.

Abstract: We present a deep learning approach to modeling inclusive electron–nucleus scattering cross sections using transfer learning, demonstrating how neural networks can effectively learn nuclear physical properties from limited experimental data. Initially trained on high-statistics electron–carbon scattering data, our model captures latent features that are transferable to other nuclei, such as lithium, oxygen, aluminum, calcium, and iron. This approach enables accurate predictions even in data-sparse regimes, revealing a robust internal representation of nuclear responses across different targets. Our results highlight the potential of representation learning to extract universal physical patterns and support data-driven modeling in nuclear and particle physics. The study illustrates how abstract, learned features can encapsulate domain knowledge, enabling generalization beyond the training distribution and reducing reliance on traditional theoretical models. To probe the method’s limitations, we applied it to the helium-3 target. The approach remained effective, although it required more extensive re-optimization. Finally, I will discuss the implications of this method for modeling neutrino-nucleus interactions. This talk is based mainly on the paper arXiv:2408.09936.

Abstract: The success of next-generation neutrino oscillation experiments, such as DUNE and Hyper-Kamiokande, relies heavily on our ability to predict neutrino-nuclei cross sections accurately. In my talk, I will demonstrate how deep learning techniques can enhance the models for neutrino and electron-nuclei scattering cross sections.
